got the guts to bleed
I have tickets to the last Rangers home game. The same Rangers who made the playoffs for the first time since 1997, thankyouverymuch (I almost just typed 1975, close enough).
Anyway, there are many thrills about the last home game of the regular season. First off, it's the last home game of the regular season and lasts are always fun. Secondly, I think you get a team photo. Thirdly, it's Fan Appreciation Night, and you know I love appreciation. Especially the kind of appreciation they traditionally give, which is Blueshirts Off Our Back appreciation. That means they randomly (sort of) pick a fan for each player. Then the player totally takes off his jersey (which is surely disgusting and fantastic) and you get it.
There are so many upsides to this. You're on the ice. Awesome. You're talking to a player. Amazing. The player is taking off his shirt. What's not to like? Then you get to keep the shirt. I love it.
I am telling you this because if I get picked, it will be lucky for the team that it is their last home game and it's three days till the playoffs. Because if I get picked (and I better), I'm going to pass out on the ice (even if I get stuck with Poti) and surely my head will crack open and Madison Square Garden will run with my blood. Happy blood, though. Or, if the damn team doesn't start winning, the ice will run with blood because I will start beating players. Either way, blood.
