The Modern Log

looking, learning, moving on

How much do I love Seth Meyers? I'm watching a rerun of SNL featuring Modest Mouse, just to get a peek. Nothing more, nothing less, love is the best. Was that just a "meow meow" kitten noise in this song? Man, I hate this band.

True factual things I did today:

  • Baked cookies while watching That Thing You Do!
  • Saw Finding Neverland
  • Shopped for magazines
  • Learned Vincent Gallo once referred to himself as Prince Vince
  • Walked out of a restaurant before ordering (very weird events)
  • Played Boggle
It's a fascinating life, it is.

I also made my New Year's resolutions, because, unlike those of you who denounce resolutions, I do have things to improve and am an eternal optimist (thus proving you can be a depressive without being pessimistic. God, I'm great. -- see, also an egomaniac). My biggest resolution is to leave the house every day. That will be a tough one. And how sad is that?

Pretty sad, yes. But fascinating.

Oh no. I *love* TTYD! I am trying to think of why you think this, and I imagine it was a "don't get me started on TTYD!"-type post. Mostly because I have way too many TTYD! stories, from seeing the Candy Butchers for the first time and saying, "Weird, that guy sounds exactly like TTYD!" and finding out I was right to eventually learning all the drama behind the song itself - like who really wrote it, hmm? I could go on and on. I won't.

HA! Yes, I took that exactly the opposite of how you meant it. :D There was also a show recap I read where someone in the audience was chastised for requesting that song.

Ah, that makes me feel better. Now I can love it without feeling like a traitor to the cause.
