hangin' round the mall and all

I keep getting spam from Fyodor Dostoevsky and Friedrich Nietzsche. Man.

My Christmas shopping is nearly done. I made great strides last night, though I would have made even greater strides had I not waited in line for 70 hours while salespeople bullied customers into signing up for credit cards. Then the checkout woman got to me and said, "It will only take two minutes to fill out the form and be approved!" And I said, "We both know that is not true." Which was not enough of an answer for her (what?) so I had to say, "I don't use credit cards" and then the lady was mean to me. Whatever.

I take the application and go on about the interest rate and all the terms & agreements as I used to work in credit a few years ago. Those salesgirls hate to wait for the customer. Ask them all sorts of questions about the card and I tell you they won't know the answer. Then you can berate them about selling a product about which they know nothing.

Or I just tell them that my credit's really bad and that it isn't worth them getting $3 or whatever the monetary compensation is to make it worse. That usually shuts them up.
